Every year Ghassan Kanafani would write an illustrate a book for his niece Lamis on her birthday. This is the one he wrote for her eighth birthday, before they were both assassinated by the Mossad by way of a bomb in Ghassan’s car. Each page is copied from the original, alongside printed Arabic and an English translation.
