Meramiye became a common healing herb in Palestine since it was used by the Virgin Mary. Nowadays the people of Levant continue to use Meramiye as a healing herb against digestive disturbances, loss of appetite and to help reduce the level of sugar in the blood.
To use, just steep in boiled water with or without black tea, and add sugar to taste. Or, for greater effect, add it to the water when it comes to a boil, and let it boil for a minute or two before removing from heat and adding the teabag.
For stomach aches or indigestion, the folk remedy is to boil the sage for 10 minutes and drink it straight without black tea or sugar.
